Fillings

When decay eats away healthy tooth structure, the best solution is usually a composite resin filling. Dr. Wynne prefers composite fillings to silver/amalgams for a few reasons. First of all, we tint composite resin to blend seamlessly with existing tooth structure, so the filling is virtually invisible. Composite fillings also contain no metal or mercury, so you can feel confident in their safety.

Placing a composite resin filling involves removal of tooth decay and preparation of the cavity. Then Dr. Wynne tints a bit of resin to match the affected tooth. After placing the resin in the cavity, he hardens the filling with a curing light. Dr. Wynne sculpts the filling to fit well within the patient's bite, then polishes it to a nice shine.

If you know that you need a filling, or if your old dental work needs repair, call to schedule a consultation with Dr. Wynne today. Our conveniently located Raleigh office caters to patients from Cary to Morrisville and beyond with gentle, modern dentistry, built to last.
